Project #8 Private Residence, Boston, MA
Glass/Bronze Rails: All of the frames, posts, base plates and subrails depicted in the photos are bronze with an oil rubbed finish. Bronze was clear-coated following application of patina. In an effort to minimize discoloration, the railing system was designed with all mechanical connections. Glass infill is 3/4" thick starphire (low iron) glass. Crystal "eggs" were installed between the glass frames and the underside of the subrail.
Bronze Pipe Rail on Half Wall: The helical pipe rail on top of the half wall is all 2" OD bronze tubing. Bronze flat bar supports were waterjet cut and fabricated to support the rail and attach it down to the top of the half wall. This railing received an oil rubbed finish as well.
